Environment—where and when do you ...? 3 The five neurological levels of experience. The second level, Behavior, is your ability to sense and coordinate your own body’s behavior. This level determines the degree and quality of your physical actions in various situations as you move through your environment. When you access this level of experience, you are mobilizing a part of your nervous system that is deeper than your sense organs.

Values are the desirable qualities of things and events, not the actual things or events themselves. Value attribution is part of everyone’s perception process, and it occurs mostly at a subconscious level. As a leader, when you acknowledge your follower’s values, you have a tremendous amount of influence. The key is to create an organizational setting in which followers have the opportunity to fulfill their values and identities. Values, however, are both contextual and derivative from identity.
