This was the case with Brinson Partners, a global investment firm founded by Gary Brinson in the mid-1980s. The result of our survey showed, however, that fewer than 5 percent of the employees could state the firm’s four core values. This example is the rule rather than the exception. Most of the organizations that we work with have talked about values—perhaps even formally identified them, as in the case just cited—but they still need to bring the values to life.
