ADMINISTRATION Do not administer within 24 hours of chemotherapy. Adults: IV: 60 mcg/kg/day for 3 consecutive days before and after myelotoxic therapy. Total of 6 doses. The first of the last 3 doses should be administered on the same day of (but after) hematopoietic stem cell infusion. Administer by IV bolus. Once vial is reconstituted with sterile water do not shake or vigorously agitate the vial.

PRECAUTIONS/ADVERSE REACTIONS Tinidazole is contraindicated in persons hypersensitive to tinidazole, other nitroimidazole derivatives, or any component of the formulation. Tinidazole is contraindicated during the first trimester of pregnancy. Warning: Convulsive seizures and peripheral neuropathy (mainly numbness or paresthesia of an extremity) have been reported with nitroimidazole drugs. Use with caution in patients with CNS diseases. Use with caution in patients with current or a history of blood dyscrasias; tinidazole may produce transient leukopenia and neutropenia.
